Hi, my name is Kelly Clingan. I’m the summer intern at M&E Painting. I’m working in, and learning about, the marketing and social media side of the business.
I met our owner, Matt, when he was listing a house for sale on my mountain and the landscaping was in rough shape. Being a rising entrepreneur I reached out to Matt about sprucing the place up so it’d sell faster. After lots of work with the weed eater and hedge trimmers, the property sold! Afterwards, Matt asked if I wanted to work at M&E this summer. The rest is history!
I’m an upcoming freshman at Thompson Valley High School (Sko Eags!) and am the only currently serving student council representative at M&E Painting.
I’ve got a running start on high school as I’m one of the first students to take four high school courses (including an AP class) in their 8th grade year. That was a lot of work!
Currently, I’m on track for a degree in Biomedical Engineering, as I’ve won the CSU Biomedical Engineering award at the Longs Peak Regional Science Fair three times in a row. At the Colorado State Science and Engineering fair, I won 3rd in the health and medicine category and Junior Division Student Choice award, as voted by my fellow competitors.
Outside of the classroom, I play club soccer for United SC and was captain of the varsity cross country and track teams at Walt Clark Middle School. And I play french horn in the TVHS concert band.
I also run my own business, Walks for Wags, which is profitable, having served over 60 paws!
Thank you for checking out my story!
