Insurance is something that is overlooked by many clients hiring a contractor. Unfortunately, the words “fully insured” are thrown around without consideration to what that truly means. M & E Painting, LLC ® is fully insured with the three following types of insurance:
M&E Painting Liability – This insurance covers if there is an accident in your home while a contractor is working which leads to property damage. The company carrying the insurance pays a deductible which would cover any damages. This insurance does not cover an employee of the company getting injured. If a contractor does not carry this insurance and property damage occurs, the homeowner must claim the accident on their own homeowner’s insurance, or pay directly for the damages. This insurance covers if an employee of our company steals from you. We have never had an incident like this, but still choose to be covered to allow our clients to be more at ease working with us. M & E Painting, LLC ® will show you this insurance policy at our estimate, and we are happy to add you as a certificate holder on our policy (this is the only true way to be sure a company has the insurance).
M&E Painting 2017 Workers Comp – This insurance covers if an employee of our company gets hurt or injured while working on your property. In the unfortunate case of an accident, an employee could be faced with thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills, lost wages, etc. Worker’s compensation insurance covers this. It is illegal for a contractor not to have this for an employee, and it places both the company and homeowner at equal risk to be pursued legally by the injured employee. This is where many painters are not covered. M & E Painting, LLC ® is fully covered with Worker’s Comp. coverage through Pinnacol Assurance. We are also happy to show you our proof of this insurance.
Thank you for taking the time to review the important insurance coverages a contractor must have to keep clients free from any liability. M & E Painting, LLC ® believes this is important in the case of an accident or mishap. Thankfully, accidents do not happen often, but when they do, there is a lot of cost, headache and liability involved. We hope you find insurance as important as we do.
