About The President

Matt Shoup is originally from Montclair, New Jersey, and has enjoyed growing up in Loveland and Fort Collins since 1991. Matt graduated from Loveland High School in 1999, and began attending Colorado State University the following year.

Matt graduated from CSU in 2003, with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. During a semester at CSU, Matt studied abroad in Alcalá de Henares, Spain, to complete his Spanish degree. While in Spain, Matt was able to live with a host family, and perfect his Spanish speaking skills, as well as travel much of the country, and other parts of Europe. Matt’s pursuit of Spanish has allowed him to be employed through the Poudre School District teaching Spanish part time at Traut Core Knowledge Elementary School for five years.

Matt’s passion for business allowed him to have many small businesses growing up from mowing lawns and shoveling snow as a teenager, to painting in college. He has learned all he knows about business by getting out there and doing it firsthand.

After graduating from CSU, Matt married Emily (whom he met at CSU) in 2004. Soon after, they founded M & E Painting, LLC ®. Matt and Emily reside in Loveland, Colorado with their son, Riley, daughter Hailey and dog, Max. Matt is eager to continue to make M & E Painting, LLC ® Northern Colorado’s number one painting company.

Emily Shoup was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After graduating high school in 2000, Emily began attending Colorado State University. There, she received her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies in 2004.

After marrying Matt in 2004, Emily worked at Elderhaus Adult Day programs until the end of 2005. Emily then began her time as an office manager for M & E Painting, LLC ®. Emily decided to step out of the business in 2007, to raise their chldren and become a full time stay at home mom!
